Mustang Man Caves: Leon Griffiths Shelby Inspired Hangout In Arizona

For some the garage might simply be a convenient place to park your ride, or a good spot to stash your junk. For the Mustang enthusiast having the ultimate stable to house your most prized pony is one more piece to living and breathing the Mustang way of life.

With a budget of around $10K, Leon Griffith, of Arizona, has created his ultimate Mustang man cave, where currently a one of a kind 1968 Mustang GT350 Tribute horse is comfortably residing. This cool hideaway, is equipped with many creature comforts. Griffith invited Stang TV in for a look at his unique Man Cave retreat.

With a retro old school design combined with modern touches, the garage oozes cool in the hot Arizona sun. Griffith has installed epoxy flooring with metallic flakes throughout, added wiring to allow for more outlets for both air conditioning and computer access, and built a classic faux garage door that hangs upon the wall along with his acquired collection of Mustang memorabilia. He also set up a work bench station with all the needed tools, and finished the overall theme by adding a lounge area to hang out with family and friends for little TV and some R&R time.

Among Griffith’s amazing collection of memorabilia, is a rare 1967 Shelby Cobra clock that proudly hangs upon the garage wall, an original Carroll Shelby autographed photo, and a memorial photo of Carroll Shelby signed by the legendary Bob Bondurant, who raced for Shelby American, that Griffith obtained at the 80th Birthday bash of Bondurant.

Griffith has succeeded in creating a functional and cozy get away with a classic garage feel. Much like the old filling stations of their day, this design is welcoming and inviting place to tinker away in or a cool place to just hang out with some good buddies passing the time.

Stang TV is looking for the coolest garage man caves, to submit photos of your garage hideaway for a chance to appear on site in a monthly feature mail them to stangtv@powerautomedia.com.

Bridgett Davis

Growing up in Greenwood, Indiana a short distance from the world famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway, my dad would take me to local car shows and events. Through this I gained my passion. Along with cars, I have always loved photography, writing, and graphic arts. However when attending college I did not pursue my passions. I played it safe and majored in business and marketing. After a few years in this field I determined this was not for me and began to pursue a writing and photography career. Landing me here with Power Automedia. I am also now the business owner of Bridgett's Toxic Creations. Specializing in automobile showboards, custom license plates, logos, and website headers. Living and breathing the Mustang life everyday in everyway. To be able to work in my field of passion is amazing and fun experience everyday. The best part is sharing a common passion with others.
