Paying homage to both the man and his creation Shelby GT350 enthusiasts will come together for the third annual Carroll Shelby Tribute and Car Show on May 16th to salute the 50th Anniversary of one of the most beloved automobiles in history. A one day event, taking place at the Shelby World Headquarters in Gardena, California an array of engine revving Shelby GT350s will be on hand along with a wide range of other Shelby variants and Ford performance autos. Guests will also be treated to a Texas style chili shindig along with special guest appearances from past and present.

An American automotive designer, entrepreneur, and racing driver, Carroll Shelby’s partnering with Ford in 1965 to transform the conventional Ford Mustang into a serious track racer forever changed automotive history. Sporting Wimbledon White and Guardman Blue livery the Shelby GT350 made its debut at Riverside Raceway on January 27, 1965 taking its first win within a month of the unveiling.

Synonymous as an American symbol for performance capturing the hearts of enthusiasts from around the globe “The Shelby G.T.350 is almost as legendary as the man who created it,” said Joe Conway, CEO of Shelby American and co-CEO of Carroll Shelby International. “Our salute to the G.T.350’s heritage also celebrates Carroll, because this car embodies his larger-than-life persona. The Shelby G.T.350 truly changed the automotive landscape, which is why the cars are as desirable today as they were 50 years ago.”

Gates opening at 10 a.m. PDT; Shelby American displaying their vehicles from past and present as well as hundreds of car owners Shelby and Ford powered autos on display all are invited to attend. Car owners interested in displaying their car in the festivities should register on the Carroll Shelby Foundation website. Form available on site, a $40 donation for all registrations contributes to the foundations mission of providing medical assistance to those in need as well as providing educational opportunities for youth via automotive and other training programs.
