Watch A Flock Of Fords Fly Up The Goodwood Hillclimb In The UK

Each summer for the last quarter century, the British countryside comes alive with the sights and sounds of all things vehicular thanks to “the largest motoring garden party in the world.” On the site of the Goodwood house in Chichester, United Kingdom, all manner of mechanical motivations are in motion and on display as part of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which celebrated its Silver Jubilee this week.

The crown jewel of the event is the Hillclimb, which sees all manner of vehicles taking on the storied road course. Hundreds of vehicles will make the run over the four-day event — in both timed and demonstration runs — culminating in the Sunday Shootout, where the quickest cars of the weekend will compete to determine the quickest of the weekend.

Of course, Ford Motor Company has long put on quite a show in the paddock and on the Hillclimb course, and this year was no different.

“Nothing captured the spirit and excitement of Mustang quite like that amazing car chase in Bullitt,” Steven Armstrong, group vice president and president, Europe Middle East and Africa, Ford Motor Company, said. “We’ve been honored to work with Sean (Kiernan) and his family to bring an absolute icon of motoring history to Goodwood, where we know it will be appreciated by an audience that, like Steve McQueen, has petrol in its veins.”

In addition to the original Bullitt movie Mustang and the new Mustang Bullitt, the big Blue Oval brought out a number of significant vehicles to run up the hill, including the a Ford GT, a Fiesta World Rally Car and the Eagle Squadron Mustang RTR. Plus, Siemens attempted the hill in its self-driving 1965 Mustang. In case you weren’t locked in to the livestream, here are some of the Blue Oval highlights from this year’s FOS…
