There’s no denying how much skill Kyle Larson has behind the wheel of a racecar. However, what happened last night has divided fans in both the dirt and pavement worlds on their thoughts on Larson.
Kyle Larson has entered all three events at this week’s battle at the beach in Daytona. Many have thought he might be a front runner in all three divisions and some have picked him to pull off an impressive sweep of the late models, modifieds, and K&N Pro Series events.
It all started last night with about 25 laps to go when Larson, who had been saving his tires and equipment decided to make a charge to the front from his third position. Larson drove it in deep into turn one and got into second place runner Ben Rhodes, severely damaging Larson’s front end. That didn’t slow down Larson as he made a charge to front and eventually passed CE Falk for the lead only to give it back a couple of laps later.
What followed was an amazing last five laps that saw Kyle Larson and C.E. Falk battle for the lead. When the white flag came out it seemed that Larson’s hopes for victory might be gone, but in a dramatic last lap dive bomb, Larson got to Falk’s bumper more than once, and Falk went for a ride through the infield while Larson drove on to victory.
Twitter and Facebook exploded with many claiming Larson’s move was extremely dirty. Others claimed it was a move that Dale Earnhardt himself would have done. What do you think about the accident? Was this just last lap antics and C.E. Falk would of done the same thing? Or should Larson have been disqualified?
