High octane racing channel ” target=”_blank”>1320 has done it again with one of their recent posts. This time around, we witness an all-wheel drive shootout between a WRX STi, a DSM, and a Lancer Evolution.
Showcasing each of these three beasts, the WRX STi is highly tuned and rated at 750hp and 39psi boost. The STi is spins thick drag racing Hoosier tires and was tuned on the spot before the race. The driver of the STi said he took on the infamous Diamond Star Motors coupe and lost.
Speaking of which, the DSM is a drag racing machine with its 700hp and stock automatic transmission. Being the only automatic tranny in the race, the DSM was pitted against higher powered machines in the 750hp STi and 850hp Lancer Evolution.
When it was time to race, the STi and DSM were not messing around. Right off the start, the two left the Evo in the dust, barring a dogfight until the end.
With the STi and DSM going pound for pound, it was the DSM that pulled away on the last leg. Looking at it from the STi and DSM’s point of view, the race was very close between the two.
Why couldn’t the Evo keep up with the other two opponents? It did have more power than the others, but it goes to show that power isn’t everything.
Who do you think won the big race? With it being so close, you make the call. Be sure to leave a comment or two below.
