When sprint cars touch wheels anything can happen and often ends with a spectacular accident.  This was certainly the case on June 15th when the United Racing Company (URC) sprint cars made a visit to Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania.  Joey Biasi in his #B1 sprint car and Kevin Darling in his #9D machine were running wheel to wheel in heat race action when they got just a little too close to one another.  Biasi dives down low to set up for a corner and doesn’t realize that Darling had a good run coming up beside him when the two cars touch wheels.

Their sprint cars both go into a very wild serious of flips that ends in the turn one fence after Darling’s top wing flies out of the track into a tree.  The two cars come to a stop with Darling’s car sitting on top of Biasi’s car and one of the car catches on fire.  A few anxious moments pass before safety crews arrive and both drivers emerge unhurt from the scary accident.  Later in the video you see that someone actually had to climb the tree the get the top wing out of it.  Luckily the top wing landed where it did because if it landed in the grandstands it could have injured several spectators.  Check out the spectacular crash video and never take your eyes off of a sprint car race as anything can happen and usually does as soon as you look away.
