The Nürburgring is a 150,000-capacity motorsports complex built around the village of Nürburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, about 43 miles south of Cologne.
Since its inception, there has been almost every kind of automotive motorsport race imaginable held at the Nürburgring. When races aren’t taking place, the 12.9-mile Nordschleife usually sees major manufacturers testing future production cars, race teams testing there, but mainly civilians, as the Nürburgring is actually a one-way toll road. Yes, that’s right, a toll road. One of the world’s greatest racetracks is, in fact, a toll road. How awesome is that?
One of our favorite parts of the video was when the silver tour bus was making its way to the turn where the cameraman was posted up, and the driver in the black McLaren MP4-12C was just calmly waiting his turn to pass the bus. Unless he’s used to strange vehicles holding him up on the Nordschleife, we would venture to say that he was pretty frustrated and just wanted to go fast. If you have any Nürburgring stories, post them in the comments!
