Video: VMP Tuning Upgrades LateModelRestoration.com’s Latest Build

VMP Tuning has a reputation for developing some of the most well engineered supercharger packages on the market today. Their extensive work with ROUSH and Eaton, as well as their own in-house R&D have made VMP successful, and it’s no wonder that LateModelRestoration.com is carrying VMP’s superchargers now on their web-site.

This latest video from LateModelRestoration.com has J-Mac and VMP’s Justin Starkey checking out the VMP Stage 3 supercharger kit for 2011-14 Mustang GTs. The team over at LateModelRestoration.com has dressed up a loaded Mustang GT with full boogie GT500 appearance parts. To get near GT500 performance they turned to VMP to add the boost.

The Stage 3 Supercharger kit from VMP comes with everything needed to install it including:

  • 2.3L TVS Supercharger
  • 123mm JLT Cold Air Intake
  • VMP Dual Fan Heat Exchanger
  • Injector Dynamics ID725 Fuel Injectors
  • VMP Custom Tune & SCT Tuner
  • All needed hardware
  • Dual 60mm Throttle Body

Starkey and the VMP team have put considerable effort into tuning the package so that it not only produces incredible horsepower numbers but also provides efficient boost delivery under all conditions with regard to temperature. What that means is that whether the car is driven solely on the street, hits the drag strip on a regular basis, or heads out to the road course, power won’t suffer due to high temperatures.

The Stage 3 system installed on this car made over 620 hp to the rear tires, incredible numbers for a bolt-on part. Horsepower is often a seductive mistress, and most of us have found that just when we think we’re satisfied, it lures us back in for more. VMP has engineered the Stage 3 system with this in mind, making the system scalable. What that means for customers is that the system will grow with their modifications, so if 620 horsepower is good today, but 700, or even 800 are on the horizon, the Stage 3 system can handle it.

LateModelRestoration.com carries a full line of VMP products, so be sure to check them out for your Mustang. You can also find out more about VMP at their web-site and Facebook page.
