Video: The Most Unique 1930 Hudson Hornet You’ll Ever See

Hudson Hornets are a rare sight to see in the hot rod world. Not many of them were built when compared to Fords and Chevys of the same era. Stretch back into cars from the 30s, and you’ll see even less. It is safe to say that just about any Hudson would gather would have people of all types giving it attention. The 1930 Hornet in the above video demands attention and you’ll be happy to give it.

Three little words will instantly grab your focus. Dual…Big…Blocks. No, I didn’t stutter, I didn’t mis-type. A pair of 468 cubic inch Chevy Big Blocks were mated together and crammed into the front end of this amazing beauty. Each motor has a separate 600 CFS Caburetor, that is fed by twin 671 GMC Blowers. Holley Hydraulic Cam Shafts spin the valves inside the 454 Steel Heads. A pair of Meziere Electric water pumps plus two manual water pumps keep the fluids moving and four MSD Distributors keep the motors firing perfectly in tune with each other.

The motors pump their power out to two Turbo 400 Transmissions that have had a shift kit installed in each. Just about everything on this car is doubled up. Dual Master Cylinders bring this 1600 plus horsepower monster to a stop and dual Ford 9-inch rear differentials are loaded with Detroit lockers to keep the power to the wheels.

There is an unbelievable amount of detail that has gone into this unique car. Chopped and widened top, custom rear fenders to cover the massive 33-inch tall and 22-inch wide rear tires and so much more.  Check out the video above to see it in action. It appears this car is for sale, too. To get more info on the car, go check out the M&M Brokers listing or visit www.mmbrokers.com to get in touch with them.
