It’s not the first time we’ve come across a prank of this kind performed, but it might just be the most convincing one we’ve seen so far. Leona Chin, a professional drifter in Malaysia, teamed up with a driver’s ed school to trick some new instructors on their first day on the job. Leona dons the persona of a timid driving student with limited experience behind the wheel and proceeds to take the instructors on the ride of their lives.
Of course the plethora of aftermarket performance parts on Leona’s car – which includes a vertically mounted handbrake – should be a dead giveaway that things aren’t quite what they seem, but Leona explains that the car belongs to her brother. After testing the instructors’ patience by stalling the car numerous times, going in the opposite direction that they tell her to go, and applying the brakes in the most annoying ways possible, many of her coaches are ready to tell her to go back to the drawing board.
“Give me one more chance,” Leona implores of one of her hapless passengers. It turns out those ignored route directions had a purpose – they end up in front of an empty parking lot that’s conveniently outfitted with parking barriers to drift around. After that it’s clear from the guttural screams of Leona’s passengers that they were caught a bit off guard by her newfound courage behind the wheel. But perhaps the funniest part is the instructor who continues to attempt to direct Leona while she has the car in full opposite lock with tire smoke billowing out behind them.
