Tony Stewart had one hell of a week last week – He held the first dirt race in over 40 years at his famed Eldora Speedway. But this week started out great for Tony, but one day after the Stewart-Has team won the Brickyard, Stewart was involved in a serious crash.
Last night Stewart was competing at Ohsweken Speedway in Ontario, Canada. Stewart was battling with Shane Stewart for the lead as the two had checked out from the rest of the field. Tony pulled a slider on Shane, only to watch Shane cut right back under him to take back the lead. It was great racing for the fans, until Stewart hit a huge rut and went flipping violently through the air, finally stopping when he crashed into the fence.
Tony’s ride was junked. In fact, the crash was so bad that Stewart had to withdraw from the World of Outlaws event tonight where he was the defending winner.
Even so, Stewart was able to walk away from injury and we’re sure we will see him back behind the wheel of a sprint in no time!
Officially Shane Stewart went on lead every lap and win the Burger Barn Northern Summer Nationals ahead of Jessica Zemken, and Dain Naida.
