For years, Flowmaster Mufflers has been on the cutting edge of exhaust system and muffler technology. Back in the day, you couldn’t find a Fox Mustang anywhere that didn’t have a set of Flowmaster’s two- or three-chamber mufflers on board, and the legendary Flowmaster sound could be recognized from literally a mile away. Heads would turn towards the sky, and many an enthusiast would wonder what else was done to the Mustang making that sweet music.
Today we get a chance to tour their facility through this video, which shows off the immense production capabilities of that facility. Stacked up higher than the eye can see, the piles of tubing come together in their CNC-controlled machinery to make up the performance exhaust systems that fill their extensive catalog.
They now also offer a full range of stainless steel exhaust systems, a full range of long and short-tube Scavenger Series stainless steel header kits, and even universal and direct-fit catalytic converter products.
The company relies on tons of testing to achieve their results, from destructive testing to test longevity to decibel testing to ensure that the mufflers meet the standard set forth for each individual product. In addition, each of the products is tested on a representative vehicle on their in-house four-wheel-drive dyno to test torque and horsepower gains, ensuring that the end result is a product they (and you) feel is worthy of installation on your vehicle.
The video is a unique look into what makes things tick at Flowmaster – make sure to watch it from end to end!
