Ebisu Circuit is the dreamscape in the imaginations of any grassroots drifter who’s ever tugged on an e-brake handle. It is an amusement park of drift tracks in the Fukushima Prefecture’s city of Nihonmatsu in Japan. One of the pillars of modern drifting, Ebisu does it all, the facility hosts a round of Japan’s D1 Grand Prix professional drift series but is open to the public in a pay to play format … you don’t even need to have a car. That’s right, you can acquire a vehicle on site. Power Vehicles is the outfit that oversees the stable of powersliders. The exact manner in which this works is not easy to explain … but click here for more insight. Power Vehicles sells all manner of vehicles from a Mercedes 500SL with a 2JZ swap, to JZX100s, to the stereotypical S14 and S15 chassis Silvia.
The facility, built by drift driver Nobushige Kumakubor of the famed Team Orange drift crew, consists of five tracks Nishi (West), Kita (North), Higashi (East), Minami (South) as well as Drift Land, the School Course, and two skid pads, dubbed the Touge (mountain pass) and ‘KuruKuru Land’ which are the skidpans. The most famous circuit is the Minami or South course which is for D1 and other drifting events. Endurance racing, FJ1600 series races, motorcycle, and karting discipline are also held at the famed facility.
Often called the Mecca of Drift, Ebisu Circuit is a bucket list location and luckily the track is very open to foreigner dropping by for some sideways shenanigans. They may even have ready-made travel packages.
