Today’s catch brings us a video courtesy of HEDMANtv on YouTube, where we see Scott “Lucky” Hudson tear down the blacktop in his Hedman’s Hedder-equipped 1966 Nova. It’s a terrific perspective to see inside the classic Chevy from start to finish.

The clip opens with Hudson giving a thumbs up to his assistant as he closes the door. Hudson spins the tires a bit and gets himself set to launch, grabbing his steering wheel at 11 and 5. The engine revs with the lights, and then BOOM! Green to first gear to second gear, and then just holding on for dear life all way down to the finish line. That’s what it’s all about.

The clip shown was actually part of Hudson’s being in the running for the West Coast Shootout in Pomona back in May. It was a great day at the races, with Hudson deftly handling all of his opponents. And while he won this particular heat, he lost later to Frank Coscarelli in the semifinals.

Still, it can’t be all that bad with a beast as awesome as Hudson’s Nova, running a dial-in at 9.50. Hudson has a lot equipped to his Nova, but one of his most essential pieces has to be the Husler headers. With steel construction and ceramic coating, those headers were not only delivering better breathing and horsepower to the Nova, but a worthwhile level of longevity that you just can’t put a price on.

And Hudson, for his own part, has been loving and racing this car for several years. We wish him well in his next race, and hope to see some more smoking tire videos from him soon.
