With Mother’s Day on its way, I’ve taken it upon myself to provide a few suggestions for my lead-footed friends. There is nothing more exhilarating than getting on a race track–and scaring your loved ones a few beats from a heart palpitation. Having had the privilege of making my father squirm in the passenger seat at Laguna Seca, I can attest to the undeniable pleasure of giving an inexperienced passenger a firsthand demonstration of speed at a world-class racetrack.

Stunt driver Darius Khashabi, “>a man best known on the internet for riding a motorcycle into a pool, is a doting son. To introduce Rosemary, his highly-strung mother, to the performance of a modified Corvette Z06, he strapped her in shotgun and showed her about 60% of the Chevy’s potential at Sonoma Raceway. Hopefully he consulted her cardiologist before all of this.

To help soothe her nerves, Khashabi gives her a quick update on the state of his Corvette’s tune. Pushing somewhere in the vicinity of 550 horses to the rear wheels, the car is no slouch when running down Sonoma’s straighter sections.

As she screams and pleads her son to let her out of the car, Khashabi seems to hardly break a sweat. Kindly, he tries to take her attention off the horror and, at 2:59, asks about the gorgeous Californian weather. In response, she politely utters one of the funniest things I’ve heard in a long time.  They say the Scottish are polite people, and that only proves it.
