Video: Rock Star Travis Barker talks Cars and Music

The bonds between hot rods and rock ‘n roll have been obvious over the years. However, though the bond has been constant, often the styles have followed divergent paths. Case in point, recording artist and Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker talks about his experience with cars and music in our feature video from Mr. Cartoon Sanctiond.

Even though scenes on the video are brief, Barker’s eye-popping collection of cruisers gives the impression that this is a man with a true automobile passion. As he tells the story of his first foray into the automotive world, one gets the sense that some of our experiences are very similar.

The video connects people on multiple levels. Any automotive enthusiast can find something to excite them in Barker’s collection of old school and late-model cars. Listening to his story, one discovers that Barker is a dad, is an accomplished musician with great appreciation for his instrument, lost his first car in a fire and has some pretty high dating standards. But overall the sense of true appreciation and passion for cars is at the core of his being.

Travis Barker has a love for cars and rock music that plants him firmly in the hot rod catagory. His experiences and stories are almost universal to any enthusiast.

Being an old geezer, my knowledge of current rock bands is limited. Like many my age (or any age) I found a comfort zone that for better or worse, I keep tightly wrapped around me like a cocoon. After watching this video of a very talented man talking about the automotive passion that we share and a common love for music, the cocoon just got a little bigger.
