There’s a lighting company based in Gilbert, Arizona, and if you have not heard of it, well, you are a bit behind the times. But that’s all right, that’s what we are here for, to help you stay up to date and tuned in to what’s hot in the accessory marketplace for your truck and 4×4.

Founded in 2006, Rigid Industries began making LED lights in 2008 for all sorts of off-road vehicles (military, commercial, marine and industrial purposes, too). However, it was not an instant turn on (ha ha, that was a pun), and not everybody bought into the idea of LED lights as the answer to all their lighting solutions. After all, HID (high-intensity-discharge) lighting had recently come of age and was still very popular in the automotive marketplace.

The debate as to which was better raged as hot, well, as hot as a rack of lights left on for hours, at races, the bar, the dinner table, and just about any where gearheads gathered. It took a while, but eventually the automotive enthusiast community turned around and the high-output LED reigned king among lights for use on just about anything with wheels.

It is now 2014 and Rigid Industries has become one of the fastest growing privately owned lighting companies in the country, and the largest off-road lighting company in the world. It now employs 150 people and has re-shaped the way many off-roaders think about lights.

If, as the saying goes, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery,” then many companies have paid Rigid Industries a great compliment.
