Adam Cox plans to use his New Edge Mustang to pay a tribute to officer Ponder during the NMRA World Finals on October 1st-4th

On September 13th, 2015, tragedy struck in Eddyville, Kentucky as Kentucky State Police Trooper and U.S. Navy Veteran Joseph Cameron Ponder was killed in the line of duty, leaving his family behind. One individual is taking action in an effort to support the victim’s family. That individual is Adam Cox, who is a NMRA Modular Muscle racer.

During an interview with Cox, he comments, “The Kentucky State Police needs our support now more than ever now. Losing an officer in the line of duty, especially in my state (Kentucky), it just really hit me. The fact that this officer was so young, and that they interviewed his family members, and the places he went to school, everyone had nice things to say about him. I really lost a lot of sleep thinking about it. You have to wonder, what would it be like to come home to your family, without that person being there?” Cox has really answered the call of duty for the victim’s family by paying a patronage to Trooper Ponder. Originally, he had planned to tribute the officer by placing a sticker on the front of his Mustang for the NMRA World Finals, an event with over 10,000 spectators which takes place next weekend in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

When Cox posted his idea on his Facebook account, the response was overwhelming. Hundreds of people, including Cox’s family and friends, now wanted to contribute.
