Monster Jam this year had some crazy highlights, but Tom Meents, 11-time Monster Jam World Finals Champion, set the bar doing a near-perfect front-flip in his truck Max-D. Check out the video above to see it in action.

As you can see, the truck landed on its rear tires, then continued to rotate doing yet another front-flip! However since the front-flip was not a solid land, he managed to elude the Guinness World Record title, despite the level of badass-ness achieved. Many people say Tom landed that flip; throwing an extra one in there is just icing on the cake.

He starts out with some serious speed, running up the lip of the ramp. The truck gets the flip in, and the crowd starts going crazy.

An imperfect landing on the back tires, perhaps that was a bit too much speed?

Getting one more spin in landing on the back side and continuing the roll forward, makes a satisfying win out of this technically considered fail.

Tom Meents had performed the first ever monster truck back-flip in 2007 at the show in Gothenburg, Sweden. Since then, he has performed the monster truck back-flip numerous times, and shooting for the first ever front flip record truly makes him worthy of his title “King of Air.” Without a doubt, this won’t be Tom’s last attempt at the front-flip record. The Max-D doing an “almost” front-flip is in its own right pretty awesome. World record or not, Tom Meents earned his respect at the Monster Jam this year.
