Video: It May Look Like Junk But This 1953 Ford Means All Business

Posted on ” target=”_blank”>High Octane Films, we present to you a rusty old truck that has a little oomph behind it. Taking on modern diesel technology, this 1953 Ford pickup truck may be ugly, but is really a beast at heart.

One radical truck that destroys all.

What could be considered an eyesore to many, is a Ford pickup that was built by RTC Performance in Tennessee. RTC’s main focus is performance work on Powerstroke, Cummins, and Duramax mills.

Despite its looks, the RTC Performance ’53 Ford fears no one. Racing against current generation Duramax and diesel applications, this pickup gives each opponent a run for their money. Dubbed the Rust Bucket by the team at RTC Performance, this truck presents itself as the antichrist to clean, show quality builds.

The truck made short work of the Euro station wagon it faced on the first run. As for the two heavy trucks, the pickup faced more of a challenge, yet still held a slight advantage due to its short wheelbase and lower curb weight.

Running with no hood, this air cooled Powerstroke mill makes enough torque to get those wide Hoosier slicks out back spinning with no problem. The truck’s engine build may not be the cleanest we’ve seen, but this diesel rat rod has so much attitude that we couldn’t just overlook it without having a few words to say.

What are your thoughts of the Rust Bucket? Would you have done it any different? Be sure to share your opinions below.
