There’s a sort of beauty to the relationship that a person can have with their car. You can have an appreciation for any number of cars in the world, but there’s just something about your very own machine that can make it absolutely irreplaceable. For Shane, the owner of the gorgeous ’64 Falcon Sprint in the video, that relationship started when he was 15 years old.

We’ve acknowledged it more than a few times – that distinct determination that most gearheads seem to have in common – and this is another shining example. Shane states that he first fell in love with the Falcon when he was just a kid, and a few years later set out to claim one of his own.

He expresses that, as a 15 year old, he didn’t have the money to even buy the time-worn shell of his now beloved car. But as any car guy who’ s dead-set on a particular goal, he found his way around the problem. Later, when trying to get his hands on a working motor for his beloved project car, he again found a way to overcome the financial barrier.

Even in piecing his ride together to get it in running condition, he took an unorthodox approach – using brakes from a Grand Torino and a brake booster from a Geo-Metro. He states that it’s a slow-but-sure work in progress (like just about any other project car), and he still has further plans.

Naturally, Shane expresses that he’s enjoyed the build through and through; he’s touched every last part on the car, putting all his own blood, sweat, and tears into it. His sense of pride and ownership is obvious, capturing the passion that goes into building your own dream car.
