Bringing the world their unique vision, Lexus continues to innovate and combine luxury and sport into one entity. Posted on ” target=”_blank”>YouTube, we stumbled across this quick teaser that literally brings the new RC-F to life.

With cars integrating much of their cutting edge technology with sensors, sophisticated software and computers, this idea brought onto the RC-F from Lexus Australia is one unique feat. Monitoring facets such as ambient noise and a driver’s alertness, this unique paint job emits a driver’s current state as the vehicle is in motion. This involves a driver’s heartbeat, blood pressure, or emotion. Look at it as a four-wheeled version of a mood ring that was popular in the 1970s with a hint of Vulcan Mind Meld and you get the idea.

What looks like a normal vehicle during the day, its luminescent glow at night emit’s the driver’s heartbeat along the sides of the car. It may not tickle everyone’s fancy, but the idea in and of itself is one we haven’t seen.

According to a Lexus press release, the first stage of the system works by transmitting the heartbeat of a connected person from a heart rate monitor to a bespoke electrical system in the RC-F. The on-board system then captures and processes the data before sending an electric charge through the RC-F’s body panels, which are painted in electroluminescent paint developed by United States-based specialist Lumilor.

We may not know if this will truly happen in the near future, but Lexus’ interesting vision shows Japan’s eagerness to think forward and against the grain. With automakers breaking away from the tried and true, more and more of them are breaking down barriers, experimenting with ideas such as the downsizing and turbocharging trend that has taken the automotive world by storm.

Out with superchargers and naturally aspirated and in with small, turbocharged engines, the automotive scene is shifting towards efficiency and avoiding high manufacturing costs. Do you think this idea will come to fruition? Or is it just another lousy concept that will get brushed under the rug? Be sure to share your comments below.
