Our friend ScottieD, the custodian of cool, spotted a kustom that is truly mind blowing. Posted on ” target=”_blank”>YouTube, we couldn’t help but feast our eyes on American Pride, a mean and tricked out 1938 Chevrolet Pickup spotted at the 2015 Car Craft Summer Nationals in West Allis, Wisconsin.

Owned by Larry and Connie Massengill, this two-tone pickup was built by the Custom Shop in Flanagan, Illinois, five years ago. Packed with a 486ci V8 and a BDS 8-71 supercharger under the hood, this pickup makes upwards of 1,000 horsepower. Custom side-exit pipes send out an authoritative exhaust note.

A Gear Vendor TH400 transmission helps put power to the pavement, spinning sizable a staggered 20-inch set of billet wheels, wrapped up in Mickey Thompson rubber. An air suspension kit allows this truck to drive at any stance and ABS power brakes ensure great stopping power for the kustom pickup.

The cab has been chopped four inches and the wheelbase has been stretched five inches. The hood was stretched four inches and the bed had eight inches cut to give this truck its curvaceous appeal. The rake of the grille was also laid back three inches and the rear fenders were widened to fit the deep-dish wheels out back.

Suicide doors, slim LED taillights you can hardly see, and polished oak wood planks in the truck’s bed round out the package.
