Video: Introducing The Amputator, A Simple V8 Lawnmower

Fully functional and V8 certified.

Car enthusiasts tend to be passionate and are highly informed about specific facets of the car world. Here, we have Scottie, an ocker who loves V8 engines and decided to build ” target=”_blank”>The Amputator, a Holden V8 powered drivable lawn mower.

In short, an ocker is slang for an Australian who enjoys beer, barbecues and V8 cars. Scottie seems to have channeled his ocker tendencies with this unique build posted on Ron Kustombitz’s YouTube channel.

Not to mention, Holden is a subsidiary of the Australian General Motors. Furthermore, Holden engines were in production in Australia from 1969 to 2000.

What looks to be quite hefty, the V8 engine mounted in The Amputator extends the front end of the mower quite a bit. The headers protrude and the exhaust safely fires out below the driver’s feet.

What’s interesting is how easy Scottie makes it to control this juiced up mower. We figured it would be hard to control with the small steering area and limited foot space, but he manages to mow the lawn with little stress or struggle.

Look out John Deere, The Amputator is coming to a yard near you.

Yes, the turns may have been a bit wide but it makes sense given how much larger the front end is extended by the installation of the V8 engine on the tiny drivable mower.

John Deere better watch out because The Amputator sounds like it could it one up alive. Even the onlookers in the video were in amusement at what was happening.

Although this isn’t the first custom mower we’ve seen, it is indeed unique and very much functional. What do you think about this custom mower?

Nothing is dangerous here; only the fact that there’s a V8 powering a tiny frame. At least he didn’t bash into a wall or lose control with all that power at his disposal on a mower.

What do you think about this mower? Does Scottie have too much time on his hands? Be sure to share your thoughts below.
