The folks at That Racing Channel are well-known for their videos, which cover all types of automotive performance, from street racing to all-out heads-up drag racing and plenty of “girls riding in cars” videos to boot, but the subject of today’s focus is the sweet 6-speed Supra project that they’ve built with the assistance of Real Street Performance‘s Jay Meagher.

Meagher took the ’95 manual-transmission Supra and proceeded to yank the engine out for a rebuild, in the process anticipating big power with assistance from the Precision Turbo GT42-7675 76mm snail that would front the engine. Built to run on E-85 fuel, the engine is based around Toyota’s venerable 2JZ engine block that’s been prepped for the power.

The 2JZ’s performance capabilities have been well-proven over the years, with numerous big-power Supras and other vehicles using the powerplant – even a 2JZ-swapped Mustang has gotten in on the run, turning in seven-second quarter-mile times in the process. The factory block is stellar in application when fortified with the correct internal parts.

In this build, Real Street turned to Manley Performance to use a full complement of their internal gear. The company’s Turbo Tuff forged connecting rods, Platinum Series forged pistons, engine valves, and a valve spring kit were all installed in-house to support the massive power levels.

Check out the video – the sound of the turbocharged sickness as the turbo spools up on the dyno at 8,000 rpm  is well worth the price of admission.
