If you are a regular visitor to OneDirt.com, you know how excited we were about the 72nd annual Turkey Night Grand Prix. After being held at Irwindale Speedway for a number of years, the annual event that takes place on Thanksgiving was finally moved back to where it belongs – On Dirt!

Perris Auto Speedway was slated for the return and the midget racing did not disappoint the fans that turned out for it. 98 Laps is a very lengthy event for the midgets, however the half-mile saw some of the closest racing we’ve seen all year with Kyle Larson once again bringing home the checkered flag.

It wasn’t smooth sailing for Larson as he had to wrestle the lead away from his teammate Bryan Clauson, then at the end of the event Tracy Hines looked to have a very strong run going before blowing a right rear tire.

Larson added yet another victory to his impressive resume and now you can chalk him up next to the list of the greats like AJ Foyt, Billy Boat, Stan Fox, Bryan Clauson, Gary Bettenhausen, and Ron Shuman who have all won the infamous Turkey Night Grand Prix.
