The new Ford GT broke cover back in January and had the automotive world literally drooling. Not only is it a great reiteration of what started it all, it uses the latest technologies that we’ve come to know and love.
This video posted by YouTuber, Marchettino, is a great example of how awesome the MKII Ford GT40s
were are. There were 107 GT40s produced in total, and there were four different engine choices, but we’re pretty sure this one possesses a 7.0-liter 427 V8. Correct us if we’re wrong, though! Marchettino stated in the comments that this is, in fact, an original GT40 and that the owner of the GT40 also owns the Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe. How awesome would it be to own two of the most iconic racecars in automotive history?
Before the car makes its way onto the track, everything was given a once-over to be sure that everything is good to go. That gave Marchettino a good look at the cockpit, which looks nothing less than immaculate. As the car makes its way onto the track, with the Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe following close behind, you can hear all of the great nostalgic sound that the V8 and 180-degree headers produce; It really is a mesmerizing sound.
We’re really happy to see that there’s a person who owns a GT40 MKII and doesn’t let it sit and look pretty, but actually drive it how its supposed to be. Big ups to the owner for keeping his investment so immaculate and use it wisely, and there’s no better circuit in Belgium than Spa-Francorchamps to unleash this beast.
