Barrett-Jackson, one of the premier auctioning firms within the automotive world, is about to have something screaming and yellow cross the block. No, it’s not a parakeet hopped up on speed – it’s a killer Velociraptor, built by Hennessey Performance and proven as a mean off-roader.
Those who want to get their hands on the truck will now have the chance to do so. That’s because on April 8th, the Velociraptor will come to Palm Beach, Florida for the auction. Equipped with Hennessey’s supercharger system and upgraded fueling components, the truck is good for 600 hp – all the better for flogging and punishment, which is what former Top Gear icon “The Stig” did last year for a segment of the show.
No matter who makes the highest bid on the truck this weekend, we can all appreciate the fact that the proceeds will go toward a good cause. Said cause is the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA). “I’m proud to support the Paralyzed Veterans of America,” says John Hennessey. “Thousands of veterans return from their duties with spinal cord injuries. PVA makes sure that those veterans get the support that they deserve.”
The auction is sure to have some beautiful cars and trucks get sold to collectors and enthusiasts. We’re hoping that the Velociraptor will join those ranks and also do some good for the men and women who did their duty in our country’s armed forces, too. In the meantime, what do you think the truck will go for? Let us know in the comments below.
