The Ford GT40 is an internationally known and lusted-after car, both for its incredible history, design, and sound. Just a relative handful of these cars were ever built, and fewer still are in circulation today. Many GT40 owners are loathe to even take the car to a local car show, but then again, the Goodwood Revival is no ordinary car show.

This Friday a fleet of classic race cars of nearly every make and model will descend on Lord Goodwood’s estate in West Sussex for the world’s largest vintage motorsport racing event. Among the many historic models will be 40 authentic GT40 race cars, which will compete in an epic period-correct race as they have in years past.

To tease us poor souls who can’t be there in the flesh, Goodwood released this mishmash of video clips from Revival races dating back to 2005. It’s all GT40, and we can’t get enough of that thunderous engine sound.

This video clip is nothing but two minutes of GT40s getting on and off the throttle at the Goodwood racing circuit. So if that isn’t your thing, save yourself the time and go read another story. For the rest of you who can appreciate audible art, these cars are pretty much the pinnacle of 1960s racing prowess.

These old rich guys don’t hold back, throwing these million-dollar collectibles into the corners without fear or hesitation. It looks like a wickedly good time, and makes for a great soundtrack to boot. The festivities kick off this Friday and go all weekend long.
