Ford GT, Mustang GT4, & Mustang RTR Run Goodwood

As we shared with you last week, Ford continued its strong support of the Goodwood Festival of Speed with another massive static display and a number of impressive Ford Performance machines running the event’s famed hill climb.

Ford GT race driver Andy Priaulx piloted the Ford GT production car, Billy Johnson drove the Ford GT production car before switching to the Mustang GT4 turn-key road racer, and drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr. slid in his 750-horsepower Monster Energy Nitto Tire Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5-D exhibition car up the hill.

“Day 1 at Goodwood in the books. I’m all done with the Ford GT and looking forward to making more smoky burnouts in the Mustang GT4 the rest of the weekend,” Multimatic driver Billy Johnson said after chauffeuring Lego’s Craig Callum and a Lego minifigure driver and Ford GT up the hill.

After he unofficially made his passengers — the Lego minifigure and Lego Ford GT — the fastest Legos around. Billy also ran a 53.05-second pass in the Mustang GT4 to clock in just outside the top 10 runs.

After Billy’s Lego runs, he switched over to the Mustang GT road racer and let Andy continue the Ford GT runs for the weekend. In the Mustang, Billy definitely slayed some tires, which is the forté of drift champion Vaughn Gittin Jr.

“Had an epic first day at the Goodwood Festival of Speed yesterday with my Ford Performance family and the rest of the drift crew putting smiles on faces!” Vaughn said.

This bucket-list event wraps up today, but thanks to the power of digital video, you can check out a run from each of the Ford Performance machines. For more on the Goodwood Festival of Speed, you can visit its official site here.
