Normally when we think of motorsports, or sit around and talk about racing, we spend all of our time focused on the drivers and the cars and trucks. It’s the daring exploits of Justin Pawlak, Trevor Bayne, Elliot Sadler, Bob Tasca III, John Force, Bryce Menzies or Brian Deegan, and their high-horsepower or high-flying cars and trucks that fill the room.

However, none of those exciting victories or amazing machines could be possible if it wasn’t for the crews. The pit crews, tuners, fabricators, and every other man and woman who works hard at the track before, during, and after an event, are the ones that keep the show running. The video you see above celebrates these often unknown and unsung heroes of motorsports.

The recent release of this video by Ford Racing is perfectly timed, as the motorsports world recently lost one of its ace crew chiefs, Dale Armstrong, who although best known as crew chief to Kenny Bernstein when Kenny won five of his six NHRA championships, had accomplished much more in his lifetime. Prior to joining the Bernstein team in 1982, Armstrong had been a very successful driver, tuner, and fabricator in drag racing circles.
