Video: Chuck Hanson Builds an LS-Powered 1969 Chevelle Part 3

It’s not very often that we get to see a in-depth step by step build of any car, much less an LS-powered ’69 Chevelle being put together than Mr. Chevelle himself, Chuck Hanson. We already brought you the first and second installments in previous articles, and now, we have the third for you right here.

Fuel systems can be frustrating to anybody – even to a pro like Chuck Hanson.

In this chapter, Hanson installs the fuel delivery system, hoses, and hose fittings – all from Holley Performance. In case you missed the first or second installments, there’s something that you should know.

What separates this build from any other is that other than Holley stepping in and supplying some of the go-fast parts, engine mounts, and other necessary items to help make a swap like this go together, the whole car is being built on a budget.

The frame was sourced from Craigslist, and set Hanson back a whopping $100. The transmission was purchased from a friend of Hanson’s, and the LS engine in question is not some high dollar, large-displacement, brand new crate motor, but in fact, a used 5.3L that was pulled from a ten year old Tahoe out of a wrecking yard.

We appreciate Hanson’s approach in keeping this build realistic and appealing to those who are on a budget. It gives the “common man” hope that anybody can build a really rad car, and to wheel and deal whenever possible.

So follow along with this third installment of the ongoing project car from Chuck’s Garage and Holley Performance. This is one classic musclecar we’re anxiously awaiting it’s completion.
