VIDEO: Christine Danchuck Interviews Customer Who Restored His ’55

Danchuck Manufacturing of Santa Ana, California is a premiere manufacturer of replacement parts for Tri-Five Chevys and, like most businesses these days, is pushing to expand their web presence. In the video above, Danchuck’s Product Coordinator, Christine Danchuck sits down with a customer to talk about his ’55 Pro Street Bel Air.

Harry Cline travelled down to Southern California from his home in Fresno, California in his ’55. The car is what he considers a “frame on” restoration. When he first purchased the car, it was in ok shape but needed quite a bit of work to get it where he wanted it. In high school, Cline had a car that was the inspiration for this build. Though the car he had so many years ago was a six cylinder with a manual transmission and he wanted to go much faster now. The V8 was rebuilt, the transmission and rear differential were replaced. He added a full back-half, traction bars, and tubbed out the rear sheetmetal to make room for those wide tires he lusted after.

Cline used a large amount of Danchuck components for his restoration. The bumpers, chrome strips, mirrors, and dash inserts are among the many items in their catalog he used. He is happy with the point the car is at now but knows no project is ever really complete. A blower and nitrous are in the car’s future. His goal in life is to get the front end off the ground but “…at this point [his] wife has not agreed to that.”

The car definitely gets driven. Cline regularly drives it around town and to local car shows as well as up to Pleasenton, California for the Goodguys West Coast Nationals. “The car will pass anything on the street but a filling station.” Says Cline.
