With the Formula Drift series that is power-sliding into its second decade of existence it’s easy to see that drifting has been gaining popularity in America for some time. We like drifters. The highlighted driver seen here goes by the name of Charles “Kaki” Ng from China. Charles is a regular on the Formula D circuit and has been for a few seasons now.Charles made his first appearance in Formula Drift Pro-Am at Irwindale Speedway in 2009. From there Charles worked his way up to the Pro class in Formula Drift. Then, his motorsports career went opposite lock and he started grip racing. Charles participated in a number of touring car series including the FIA World Touring Car Championships, making him a truly multi-talented driver. In the off-season, when he is not granulating rubber in his high power drift car, Charles spends his time as a Mercedes AMG Driving Instructor for those who want to learn proper car control.

The video features Charles and his revamped G37 which is powered by something that is out of the ordinary in terms of Formula Drift. The majority of the Formula Drift cars in the 2015 season are powered by LS V8 swaps from Chevy or the infamous Toyota 2JZ in-line 6, but Charles’s G37 is powered by the VR38DETT, which is the V6 engine found in the current Nissan GT-R. With the all-new setup, Charles is more determined than ever and focused to make some big waves in Formula Drift  this year. Check out the video as he goes for max angle on every turn of the track.
