Even though videos and photos of this 1/3-scale small-block Chevy V8 engine designed and built by Eugene Corl have been around for about 10 years, you can never turn away when presented with another chance to watch and listen to this mini mouse run.

This recent video is courtesy of Model Engine Builder magazine, which recalls that the engine and Eugene were showcased in the centerfold article in the publication’s first issue.

As one can easily make out from the videos, this scratch-built, cast-iron replica is full of details and genuinely reflects the dimensions and intricacies of the Chevy Gen I small-block V8. Corl designed and fabricated the patterns and core boxes needed to cast the components. It’s been reported that it took Corl seven years to machine and assemble the parts. The engine first ran in 2004 and has been seen in numerous trade shows. By the way, the bore and stroke is 1.250-inch x 1.160-inch.
