5th Gen Camaros are good at a lot of things – making dragstrip passes, carving corners, taking road trips with one full-sized friend and two small children or legless adult torsos – but “off-roading” isn’t one of them. Unfortunately, there are places in the world where the roads themselves are somewhat “off,” and a guy’s gotta do what a guy’s gotta do to get to where he wants to go.

A case in point is this eerily silent video from Brazil, where we see our intrepid Camaro driver high-centered on a pile of dirt. Bystanders are enlisted to help push, and with a little bit of wheelspin and elbow grease, the Chevy is free.

In a way, it’s a good thing that there is no sound in this video, because just imagining the scraping and grinding as the Camaro slides its tender underbelly across the ground is bad enough. Then, as if to underscore the point, a Toyota SUV follows the Camaro over the bump, and despite having actual ground clearance, it mercilessly slams the running boards into the dirt, too.

The bump looks more like a motocross obstacle than something you’d see on a normally-trafficed route, but not knowing the backstory here means we can only speculate as to why all these vehicles are trying to cross it. Maybe we should just say, “Because Brazil” and leave it at that…
