Track closures have become an issue for dirt track racers, and we have all witnessed the closures of some legendary tracks. This is especially true in the Southwest where Ascot Park and Manzanita Speedway top the list. However, this is not a problem for any one region. Not even a concern for a single country. This has become a world-wide problem.

Scouring the internet for racing news, we stumbled upon a story that is very familiar to us, but half-a-world away. Land developers are threatening the historic Belle Vue Stadium in Manchester. This has left the racers in jolly old England not so jolly. 

Belle Vue Stadium was opened in 1926 and has served primarily as a Greyhound race track. For the past 20 years or so, stock car racing has been hosted in the stadium with great success. In 2019 the stadium celebrates it’s 21st anniversary for Stock Car Racing since it’s first meeting in 1999, with visitors expected from not only across the United Kingdom, but internationally.

The track is asking for every voice to speak out against the planned demolition of the stadium.
