Racing is big business in America, and dotting many towns and cities across this great country are small speed shops churning out engines making big, big power. Drag racing is especially big business, and many companies have turned to the Internet, hoping to showcase just what their engines are capable of.

That is how we came across this pair of videos from Kuntz and Company, an Arkansas-based engine builder with almost 50 years of drag racing experience. And it shows when it comes to this 527 cubic-inch big-block Ford racing engine.

In case you clicked the link without reading the title, we’ll spoil any surprises right now and tell you that this big-displacement motor produced 1,112 horsepower at 7700 RPMs, and 820 ft-lbs of torque at 6800 RPMs. That’s a whole mess of horsepower right there, but what really got us is two things; the sound, and the fact that decades after production ceased, big-block Ford engines still have a huge following.

This 527 motor isn’t something you’re likely to see at any old cruise night, but there is no denying that the FE Ford engines really sound like something otherworldly. Crank up the volume, and make sure the boss/wife is outside when you watch this pair of videos; these motors get LOUD.
