Video: ’34 Plymouth “In-Flame-Ous” At Goodguys Nashville Nats

Everyone’s favorite polarized-lensed showgoer made his way to the Goodguys Nashville Nationals over the weekend, and he sure didn’t come home empty-handed. We’re of course talking about ScottieD, seen here doing a walkaround of this magnificent ’34 Plymouth coupe.

A shot of the car as it stood back in January 2013.

Scottie reports that he once shot video of this car over a year ago, when it was put on display at the World of Wheels event in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Back then, it was a genuine drag racer sporting a solid blue coat that meshed well with the chromed-out engine bay. It was powered by a 472 HEMI V8 provided by AMT Racing Engines, and reportedly made between 550 and 600 horsepower.

Seventeen months and a few dollars later, the car now rests in a resplendent blue mixed with orange flames (earning it the name “In-flame-ous”), but that’s not all that changed, according to its builder, Dennis, who owns and operates Impatient Creations. “The first thing to do was to make it streetable,” says Dennis. “So we had to do electrical, we had to do lighting, turn signals, wipers, you know, all of [the] brake lights.”

Some of the nicer touches of the car include its clean engine bay and custom Mopar styling cues.

All of this new stuff required a larger alternator, but since the car was meant to look and act the part of a legitimate racing application, some extensive modifications to the front end had to be made to fit everything. The team even put the fuel cell up in front of the motor, with the radiator just aft of it. Dennis jokes, “It’s not for a 110-degree day.”

No matter what day it is, we can’t help but think this Mopar is damn cool. Check out more from Scottie and his goings-on by visiting his YouTube channel and Facebook page.
