The revival of Cadillac as a world-class luxury brand has been one of GM’s biggest success stories in recent years, and leading the way has been the flagship CTS sedan. Alas, as great of a car as the current CTS is, it is admittedly starting to look long in the tooth. A replacement is slated for the 2014 model year, and while we don’t expect drastic changes to the look, under the hood things could get…boosted.

video is of the 2014 Cadillac CTS testing at what can only be the Nurburgring, and under the hood was what could only be a twin-turbo V6 engine, lending credence to rumors that have been circulating for years.

Before we get into that though, let’s talk about the new look of the CTS. For one, the front grille is much larger, and the rear taillights are almost certainly LED’s. We’re also fans of the body-integrated dual exhaust system, which seems to indicate even more emphasis on luxury performance for the next-gen CTS.

As for that twin-turbo V6, that engine will likely sit between a base naturally-aspirated V6 model, and a CTS-V V8 engine as a no-compromises performer that uses less gas. That said, its completely possible that Cadillac may ditch V8 engines entirely in favor of the twin-turbo V6, which Ford is proving to be a viable alternative to V8’s in its F-150 pickups.
