Holley Performance recently released a video that showcased a badass, Pro Street 1966 Mustang coupe that was equipped with dual Holley 450-cfm carburetors. It belongs to Thomas Gale Jr. of Madison, Tennessee, and he detailed a little bit of the backstory on the car.

“It’s a longstanding member of the family,” Thomas explained, “It used to be my mother’s car.”

After his mom passed away in 1989, the car sat in the same spot in their backyard until Thomas bought it from his dad. It took eight years to transform his mom’s coupe into what you see here, but all that work was well worth it!

The build features a small-block Ford engine that started life as a 302, but was bored out to 347 cubic inches. It’s fitted with a tunnel-ram intake and that set of Holley carburetors we mentioned earlier. It also has an automatic C4 transmission and Ford 9-inch rearend with 3.11 gearing.

It also features an MSD ignition system that Thomas speaks highly of in the video, and a nice set of Auto Meter gauges. The interior has also been upgraded with race seats, a roll cage, and a B&M shifter. Thomas wanted to elevate the coupe Mustang to the level of a fastback with his Pro Street modifications, and we would have to say that he has succeeded.
