The Toyota Supra is a timeless classic, the high-water mark in the world of imports and sport compacts. Posted on ” target=”_blank”>That Racing Channel, we take a look at a 1997 Toyota Supra Turbo that is a lot wilder than its plain vanilla body would indicate.
Owner Trevor Harmon explains the story behind his Supra and cars he previously owned. Some of the features Harmon’s Supra has include a PTE 7675 GT42 turbocharger, a Real Street Performance RS1600 engine package, GSC stage 2 cams, Ferrea Competition Plus oversized valves, dual springs, and retainers.
“I’m kind of addicted to cars if you can’t tell,” Harmon said. “I’ve modified every single one of them.”
Other cars Harmon has owned include a Subaru Impreza WRX STi, Honda S2000, and an Infiniti G35. He said his passion for cars all began when he was 10 years old, playing Gran Turismo on PlayStation.
When he turned 16, he was bent on getting a Subaru. He thought his 321 horsepower Subaru was fast, but he yearned for more. “I bought a Supra because it was the fastest street car that I could afford,” he said. “I can’t afford a Lambo, so I had to get a Supra.”
Harmon’s Supra may be familiar with some of you as he has raced against the likes of Mustangs, Porsche Carreras, as well as other Supras. Putting his Supra on the dyno, the car cranked out an astonishing 1,020 horsepower to the wheels.
With that kind of power and its street legal, other drivers better watch out. Its classic CCW wheels and unmodified exterior may fool even a knowledgeable tuner.
There isn’t any telltale sign this Supra is packing so much power under the hood until it is revved. What rustles bushes and probably sets off car alarms wherever it goes, Harmon’s Supra is one heck of a beast.
