Underground Racing’s Twin Turbo Lamborghini Huracan dropped jaws at the recent WannaGOFAST Texas 1/2 Mile racing event. As seen in this footage from 1320 Video, the lime green blur destroyed the previous record by four mph as it screamed through the speed traps in all its twin turbocharged glory at a whopping 238.60 mph.
Bragging rights also go to the car’s owner, Justin Herricks. Underground Racing reports the build was completed only 30 minutes before the truck arrived to take the Huracan and a pair of twin-turbo Gallardos to the Texas Invitational so it nearly didn’t make it to the event.
Modifications to the car are hard hitting for sure. They consist of an Underground Racing Huracán X-Version turbo system with a custom set of turbochargers from Precision Turbo, an Underground Racing-spec, Proline Racing built Huracán X Version long block, billet Underground Racing CNC Huracán intake manifold, and billet 1st-6th air shifted sequential transmission with a billet differential. John Reed Racing fabbed the custom MoTeC M1 harness and firmware. The system delivers full direct injection control, gearbox control and also address grip by programming the Lambo’s traction control and LP610-4 front differential control set-up.
WannaGOFAST is a sanctioning body that conducts top speed trials. “Our goal,” says WannaGOFAST’s president Blake Hutchison,” was to create a safe and controlled environment for fellow car enthusiasts to pursue their “Need for Speed” without the restrictions of the standard 1/8 or ¼ mile drag strip. We’ve taken a “retro” approach to what Americana used to be and fast forwarded it into Modern Day times with an efficient and unique event platform.”
