Modern muscle truck builds continue to be popular, and there are so many different ways you can create one of these trucks. If you own a 1999–2013 GM truck with a 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, or 6.2L LS-based engine, Texas Speed & Performance can bring some boost to the party. The Texas Speed Supercharger Kit (Powered by Rotrex) can add up to 1,200 horsepower to your truck.
When Texas Speed designed this supercharger kit, they wanted it to be as DIY friendly as possible. These kits are installed using factory mounting points on the engine block and don’t require any engine block modifications. Want to add more power but don’t want to change the belt or any idler pulleys? The smart idler system the Texas Speed kit uses makes that possible. All you need to do is throw on the party pulley and you’re ready to make more horsepower.
Texas Speed based its supercharger kits around a Rotrex head unit. This supercharger uses a traction-drive design that provides better packaging under the hood, less supercharger whine, and reduces charge temperatures. The Rotrex supercharger uses an internal dry-sump style oiling system that only needs to be serviced every 50,000 miles.
The kit will arrive with a Rotrex C38R-122 head unit that’s capable of supporting 600-1,200 horsepower. You’ll also find an entire CAD-designed bracket system for the kit in the box. All of the anodized billet pulleys and a 10-rib supercharger belt are also included. All of the mounting hardware also comes with the kit.
If you’re ready to pull the trigger on a muscle truck build, you’ll want to check out the Texas Speed Supercharger Kit (Powered by Rotrex). You can learn more about this kit right here on the Texas Speed & Performance website.
