If it’s one thing Australians love, it’s skid cars, tire smoke, and crazy LS-powered vehicles.

If you’re not familiar with the Summernats, allow us to enlighten you. This event is wildly popular in the land down under and offers some of the craziest spectacles of horsepower that we have ever seen. From what we can tell, the idea is to take a vehicle and add a crazy amount of power. They will then throw on a small set of tires that will never hook, giving them the perfect tire-smoking recipe.

The Summernats, which started in 1987, is Australia’s largest annual car festival, which now brings in well over 100,000 people during the four-day show. This event offers several different categories for those looking to enter, including the prestigious Summernats Grand Champion, Show and Shine, airbrushing competition, various driving events, and Horsepower Heros dyno competition.

Recently Kyle Loftis, owner of 1320 Video, went over to the event and gave us a look at the festival and his top 10 wildest Aussie rides, most of which are LS-powered. The majority of the cars on this list are Holdens. But, there are also a few that aren’t, which include an LS-swapped right-hand-drive RX7, Turbo LS-powered Masarati, a Subaru Forester, and even a Toyota SUV with a blown big-block Chevrolet power plant.

While we don’t have a favorite in the video, the supercharged VF Commodore is a spectacular build. With a monstrous black blower protruding out of the hood, the Holden puts down 1,400 horsepower to the wheels on methanal fuel. The car looks immaculate, and like Loftis says, “It looks way too nice to be a skid car.”
