You don’t need a practical reason to build a hot rod, it’s just something you do because it feels right. Simon Gluckman, a high-performance enthusiast who loves pre-war rides, built his 1932 Ford five-window coupe named “Little Eve” in honor of his late mother. Little Eve is the perfect tribute to Simon’s mother because this hot rod is little, mean, and a lot of fun just like his mother was.
When Simon scored the body and frame of Little Eve it was in rough shape, but that didn’t deter him because he had a vision of what the car could be. Originally, Simon planned to stick with a rough look for the build, but when the car came back from the body shop it just looked too nice. Simon is a big fan of East Coast-style builds, so Little Eve was chopped and channeled to achieve the perfect look.
The stance that Little Eve has is perfect and the drivetrain really matches the car perfectly. A vintage 1956 324 cubic-inch Oldsmobile engine that’s topped off by a supercharger from Ross Racing Engines powers this hot rod. The blown Olds sends power back to a Speedway Engineering quick-change rearend through a Muncie four-speed transmission. A set of headers give Little Eve a proper hot rod sound when they’re opened up.
This build wasn’t something that Simon could finish on this own and he’s thankful for all his friends that stepped up to make it happen. Little Eve is a build that highlights everything that makes hot rodding cool, building a ride with your friends that fits a vision you came up with.
