We have all seen tug-of-wars between teams of men, and we’ve even seen them between two trucks. Sometimes it’s a battle of wits, most times it’s a battle of attrition, waiting for the other team or the other opponent to simply become worn down and tired so that the eventual winner can take advantage of that moment of weakness.
What’s even more interesting is when a tug-of-war involves two trucks with loads of horsepower and torque. It’s expected that one will win. That one of the trucks will eventually drag the other over some imaginary or marked line and be declared the champion. And that the other will retreat to the automotive hinterlands in shamed retreat. Who knows? Maybe after a brave struggle, the two mighty warriors will descend from their tall-tired chariots and shake hands, regardless of victor and vanquished, when it’s all over, like boxers in the ring after a fight?
