Racing Legend Andy Pilgrim Joins NCM Board

The National Corvette Museum (NCM), keeper of all things Corvette, just got a serious dose of racing credibility on its board. Andy Pilgrim, a celebrated British-born American racer with a long and successful history tied to Corvette Racing, has joined the museum’s board of directors. This move brings years of valuable on-track experience to the leadership of America’s sports car shrine.

Pilgrim’s name is almost synonymous with some of Corvette Racing’s biggest achievements. He famously helped secure Corvette Racing’s very first win back in 2000, sharing driving duties with Ron Fellows. He also consistently put the factory Corvette C5-R on the podium at the grueling 24 Hours of Le Mans, achieving that feat in all four years he raced for the team (2000-2003).

His contributions to the brand led to his induction into the Corvette Hall of Fame in 2012. Beyond Corvettes, Pilgrim also won a championship driving for Cadillac Racing and has experience in various series, including NASCAR. Today, he actively champions road safety through his Traffic Safety Education Foundation.

Regarding his new role, Andy Pilgrim said, “To be welcomed onto the National Corvette Museum Board is an incredible honor.” He added that he looks forward “to supporting its mission, engaging with fellow enthusiasts, and giving back to the people who’ve given me so much over the years.”

Andy Pilgrim brings a rare combination of professional racing experience, Corvette passion, and a strong commitment to public service. His legacy is deeply woven into the fabric of Corvette Racing, and we’re excited about the insight and energy he will bring to the Board as we look to the future. — Bryce Burklow, National Corvette Museum President and CEO

Pilgrim’s connection to the NCM includes a January 2025 visit where he gave an oral history of his time in the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Corvette Challenge Series. His No. 18 C4 race car from that late-1980s series is currently displayed in the Museum’s Performance Gallery.

Andy Pilgrim’s incredible racing background and genuine passion for Corvette is sure to bring tons of driver’s insight to the museum’s leadership. It’s a win for NCM and for Corvette fans everywhere who value the brand’s rich performance story.
