One thing we do not pay attention to when driving our pickup around is the noise level. We do not always realize how much technology and testing goes into making sure that the quality of the ride inside the truck replicates that of some sedans.
Nissan has been doing plenty of testing and tuning with their all-new 2016 Titan XD. Nissan is trying to replicate the quietness inside the cab of the truck, that people look for in purchasing a sedan.
It is almost crazy to hear that people want it quiet inside, as we off-roaders usually add parts to make the exterior noise level go up. Whether we are adding an exhaust, intake, or larger tires, everything we do seems to counter act what Nissan is trying to do.
Nissan is testing the Titan inside and out to make sure that you can hear a pin drop inside. For the business oriented pickup owner, this is perfect. For those of us that hit the trails on the weekend, we may not think twice about noise level.
Jeep owners are probably laughing at the fact people want a quiet ride, as most of them take their tops off or are running soft tops creating plenty of cabin noise. It may not be everything to everyone, but to Nissan, noise level is something they do not want to hear.
