Mention a single AMSOIL product, and most car folks immediately think of top-tier synthetic motor oil. But a recent AMSOIL technology video reminded everyone that the company makes a whole lot more than just engine lube.

They’ve got a full shelf of other chemical goodies designed to clean, protect, and maintain your ride, and some of them are pretty clever problem-solvers for common vehicle headaches.AMSOIL’s Len Groom showed off several of these non-oil products. Take Mudslinger, for example. Groom explained it was first made for dirt bikes; you spray it on before hitting the mud, and it “makes it easier to get the mud off.” afterward.

But, he added, it also “brings the shine back [to plastic and has] UV protector in it,” making it great for all-terrain vehicle (ATV) plastics and other similar surfaces.

For times when engines need to sit, like seasonal storage for jet skis or boats, Groom pointed to their Fogging Oil, which he said “Coats the cylinder and protects you.”

AMSOIL’s Metal Protector (MP) got a big thumbs-up from Groom as well, who called it “good for everything,” especially recommending it for exhaust bolts. He also described it as an all-in-one spray that works as a moisture dispersant, lubricant, and rust inhibitor.For tougher, long-term protection, particularly against winter road salt, Len showcased Metal Protector Heavy Duty, which “leaves a nice waxed finish behind.”

If carbon buildup is an issue, Groom also identified Power Foam as AMSOIL’s “really good product for cutting through carbon … really tenacious, hard carbon.”

The lineup also includes appearance and convenience items. Miracle Wash offers a waterless way to clean and wax a vehicle, a feature the host appreciated for modern, delicate paint jobs. They also have their Silicone Spray. Very useful for window tracks and also works on zippers and can even waterproof boots.A citrus-based Engine Degreaser rounds out the selection shown. John Gardner of Motorhead Garage concluded that these products “just scratched the surface” of AMSOIL’s wider chemical products.
